Fashion in the early 1970s still consisted of many of the same looks from the 1960s. This look included bell bottoms, hot pants and many other colorful clothing items. Velvet dresses, halter top, denim or satin trousers complete with sequins, sequined bra tops, and imitation rabbit coats came to be very popular during this decade. Another popular fashion trend was blouses for women that came across the shoulders. Bare midriffs were often exposed as well. Mens fashion became more colorful and became more of a disco look.
