Americas Next Top Model is a famously known show throughout the world. It is a reality television and it is also known as Top Model. This show was created and hosted by Tyra Banks. The first season premiered in May of 2003. The show has been said to go thru the 2009-2010.

The show starts with 10 to 14 contestants that compete to win the Top Model title. The contestants are given different challenges, usually different modeling items, they are then judged by their attitude and appearances. The judges include Kimora Lee Simmons, Andre Leon Talley, and Nigel Barker. Former judges include Janice Dickinson, Paulina Porizkova, and Nole Marin. There is also many times where a guest judge will sit in on the panel. The influence on this show has been very popular. Many television shows have featured or talked about the show. The Oxygen Network is planning to air a show entitled Top Model Obsessed with former contestants, Bianca Golden, CariDee English, and Lisa DAmato.

Americas Next Top Model is not without controversy. The Shine website which is a Yahoo lifestyle website criticized the show for the cruel judges even stating that the judges degrade and humiliate the young contestants. They have created a list that shows how Top Model is damaging for females all around the world. The magazine Allure has said that the show hasnt produced any actual supermodels. In season eight it was noticed that many of the contestants were heavy smokers and many people were displeased with this fact. The season 9 controversy was that the winner had been on a Wendys commercial, in the Tyra Banks Show and in the catwalk in the Season 6 show. It was determined that these events did not hurt her and she kept her title of winner. There is also a lawsuit against Top Model from the owner of the loft used as the Top Model house. The lawsuit claims that the models and the production crew damaged the home making it impossible to live in. This lawsuit is still active.
