Calvin Klein was created in 1968 in New York City. It was said to be founded with a mere $10,000. In 1969 Calvin Klein himself posed on the cover of Vogue magazine. During this time items for sale were increasing to include blazers and lingerie as well as many other items. By 1977 the Calvin Klein company brought in 30 million dollars. It also added several different products to its line that helped to make even more money. The Calvin Klein jeans became very popular. Calvin Klein himself stated that 200,000 pairs of jeans were sold during the first week on the market. This happened in 1978. The jeans are still popular today. You can find these jeans in dark, light or even white washed jeans. True Calvin jeans have a trademark label on the back pocket.

There are several different designers that are behind the Calvin Klein line. Mr. Klein himself was the designer for many years until his departure from the company.
